Colorectal cancer (also known as colon cancer) is cancer that occurs in the colon or rectum. The American Cancer Society estimates that about 146,970 new cases and 49,920 deaths from colorectal cancer will occur by the end of 2009. The good news is that this disease can be diagnosed in early stages and treated.

Colorectal cancer affects both men and women, and often found in people aged 50 or older.
